First Parade, Second Place : Ye Enchanted Krewe of Brigadoon
Wins Second Place in 2004 Guavaween Parade

Tampa , FL - January 25, 2005 - Ye Enchanted Krewe of Brigadoon, with their newly constructed medieval themed float, wins second place in its very first parade in the Guavaween float competition.

The first parade for Ye Enchanted Krewe of Brigadoon was a huge success. Brigadoon's Scottish Highland themed float took second place out of fifty floats and was awarded $500 in the float design competition. Brigadoon's Scottish village, medieval castle, and enormous dragon were a big hit during the parade.

Many months of tireless effort went into the creation of the float and the major construction is now complete. Planning began in April 2004 with a dream and a concept. Once that was on paper, there was no stopping Brigadoon.

After the design was approved by the citizens, a trailer was purchased and construction began.

There are three major elements to the float:

• Scottish Village - This is comprised of the rear building and the meadow with rolling hills. Within the rear building are the restrooms and a storage area. The meadow is lined with lights for an impressive night-time display. Citizens will be able to ride on top of the village and within the meadow area.
• Medieval Castle - The castle is located at the front of the float and houses much of the power and sound equipment for the float. Citizens will also be able to ride on top of the castle.
• Dragon - The Dragon is the protector of the citizens of our krewe and our float. It is almost as long as the entire float. The head rips through the castle and its tail extends to the rear building, past the meadow. It has illuminated red eyes and breathes a fiery smoke. Dragon sounds will be heard far and wide throughout the Tampa Bay area when Ye Enchanted Krewe of Brigadoon arrives.

Mission : Ye Enchanted Krewe of Brigadoon was formed by many, not one: to encourage and facilitate camaraderie and fellowship by providing and opportunity to support charity organizations and to participate in local parades.
