Make-A-Wish
On May 21, 2005 the Krewe participated in its First Annual Kickball Tournament. All profits benefited the Make-A-Wish Foundation - Tampa Bay. Our goal was to cover Sydney's wish in its entirety to go to Atlantis with her family. The event was a huge success. The following is e-mail from Yari Granda, Development Coordinator for the Make-A-Wish Foundation to Jennifer Flebotte who is the Krewe representative to the Make-A-Wish Foundation:
Jen,
I just wanted to let you know that Sydney and her family are scheduled to leave for Atlantis on August 26th. I just found out that her birthday is the 27th and she is planning on swimming with the dolphins on this day. What a birthday treat! I will keep you updated as we get more information :-)

The Spring
On January 23rd, Krewe of Brigadoon members spruced up the grounds of The Spring. The Krewe added 15 new plants and 25 bags of fresh mulch to the entrance of the living quarters of their facility. This will help current and new residents feel more at ease with a home-like feel to their domicile. Thanks to all members who donated the funds. A special thanks to Colm Conway, John Della, Tina Della, Jackie Chisolm, Jimi Lynch, Scott Sestak, Teresa Barsuaskas, and Sandy Williams for gardening.
God's Pedal Power Ministry Event
In conjunction with their Bar Roll Social on Thursday, January 13 th, Ye Enchanted Krewe of Brigadoon supported God's Pedal Power Ministry (GPPM) through bike rentals and charitable contributions.
To get in shape for parade season, Ye Enchanted Krewe of Brigadoon organized a Roll rather than a Stroll and encouraged all attendees to bring their roller blades, roller skates, and bicycles.
GPPM is located on the grounds of the University Baptist Church at the corners of 22nd and 131st streets in St. Petersburg . They fall under the insurance wing and the 501c3 classification of this church. They are 100% volunteers. No one affiliated with the bike ministry makes money. GPPM receives used bicycles and refurbishes them and gives them away to needy children and adults at no charge along with a safety lesson and a helmet.
Ye Enchanted Krewe of Brigadoon made arrangements with GPPM to provide ten to twelve refurbished bicycles for the evening.
Santa Pub Crawl - 2004
The guys from Tampa Charities Inc would like to thank all of the participants, clubs, and sponsors that made this year's Santa Pub Crawl the best one yet. We raised over $4000 for Meals on Wheels and gathered nearly 500 toys for needy families. Through your generosity, all of the families who were identified by the Central City YMCA as being in need of our toys had their orders filled. Thank You!!!

Krewe Members Help Clean the Coast
A number of Krewe of Brigadoon citizens helped make the Gandy Beach just a bit cleaner recently. On Saturday morning, September 18th, members donned rubber gloves, grabbed plastic bags, and scavenged the Tampa side of the Gandy Bridge looking for “that not from nature” items. Tires, bottles, cans, lots and lots of Styrofoam were the bulk of items picked up. A Ranger came by and complimented the Brigadoon members for their efforts. We also had several citizens thank us. This area is somewhat controlled by private ownership, the City of Tampa, Hillsborough County, and the Department of Transportation. The ranger said that due to the configuration, nobody really wants to take responsibility for its upkeep. A special thanks to our pick up man, Rocky Stout! Visitors and the residence of the Gandy bridge area say, “Thank you” all for a great effort. Special thanks to: Gwynne Hartson, Scott Sestak, Mike Gwiazdowski, Jimi Lynch, Jaclyn Chisholm, Nancy Taylor, Debbie Faklis, John Keeley, Lisa McAlees, Jessica Weston, Jessica Flebotte.
Hurricane Collections
Thank you very much for your help. Together, we raised $545 and filled the trunk and back and front seats of a large car. Saturday, August 21st the donations and the cash and checks were dropped off at the Regional Response Center that had just opened at the Florida State Fairgrounds. The state set up this center to serve as a central receiving and shipping point for donations and supplies that came into the area for distribution to the counties affected by the hurricanes. The effort is being coordinated by Adventist Disaster Response, an organization run by the Seventh Day Adventist Church that received the state contract to manage the supply distribution. The state Emergency Operations Center will direct shipments of donations and supplies coming from other parts of the state or the country to the Regional Response Center, where the items will be sorted. Adventist Disaster Response then will contact the affected counties daily; take orders of needed items and ship out the supplies. Various Hillsborough County departments also will be assisting at the facility.
School Supplies

Great job Brigadoon! At our first General Membership meeting in July, we were presented with our first charity opportunity. We collected a trunk load of school supplies plus $440. 68 citizens attended the meeting and 67 citizens contributed to the supplies drive. AnnMarie Courtney went shopping with the cash and distributed the supplies to the needy Hillsborough County School support organizations.
